Under the sponsorship and participation of the Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation of the Republic of Yemen

Under the sponsorship and participation of the Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation of the Republic of Yemen, a coordination meeting was held between Owis Qarni Foundation and the Islamic Solidarity Fund for Development on the sidelines of the 44th conference of the Islamic Development Bank in Marrakech, Kingdom of Morocco. In Thursday evening, 4th April, 2019, a coordination meeting was held in Marrakesh, the Kingdom of Morocco, between Owis Foundation represented by Mr. Salah Batis, the chairman   and the Islamic Solidarity Fund for Development represented by Dr. Walid Al-Wahib, Director General of the Fund, Mr. Azhari Kassem Ahmed, the head of the Fund’s resource mobilization team and Mr. Jamal Al-Sayed, General Coordinator of the Fund. This meeting was held under the active sponsorship and participation of the Minister of Planning and International Cooperation of Yemen Dr. Najeeb Al-Awaj and the deputy minister Dr. Mohammed Al-Hawri. According to the agenda of the meeting, it was agreed on the means of joint coordination and cooperation for supporting Owis Foundation and carrying out its development programs aiming at building and development of Yemen, opening the charity fund for the development of Yemen which is funded by the Solidarity Fund of the Islamic Development Bank by 20% and cooperating with Owis Qarni Foundation for the resource mobilization by 80% so that this fund can become a major financier for Owis Foundation programs in the future.

They also discussed the means of cooperation and strengthening relations and coordination with the relevant international organizations in order to implement grants and programs that can benefit the Yemeni citizens, especially the distinguished and talented students, the administrative cadres and the institutional development.

It was agreed on signing a cooperation protocol between the Fund and the Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation to encourage the pioneering initiatives in Yemen.

Professor Ali Al-Sharif, Consul at the Yemeni Embassy in the Kingdom of Morocco, attended the meeting.
