Results of Yemen Pioneers Program (Kafaat) 2019
The idea of Owais Al-Qarni Waqf and its vision as the first participatory waqf initiative for every Yemeni and lover of Yemen for establishing the largest Waqf in the history of Yemen are based on the contribution of every Yemeni citizen and lover of Yemen for themselves, their parents or beloved persons even with one waqf share of $100. The Waqf proceeds are spent on the programs and paths of the civilizational advancement in Yemen that the Waqf seeks to implement after finishing its construction as a project befitting the civilizational position of Yemen among nations.
Owais Al-Qarni Waqf is interested in presenting a distinguished model of its programs that will be funded from the returns of your waqf shares and assets after investing them. Therefore, the Yemen Pioneers Program (Kafaat) has been prepared for caring about the superiors and the talented and distinguished persons and preparing them as leaders for the future in various fields. It is a model of what the Waqf outcomes will be like in the future, God willing.
In the first phase of the program, the Waqf took the following steps:
Communicating with the Turkish Scholarship Authority and signing a cooperation protocol with it to participate in the implementation of the program.
Because the Waqf was still in the foundation phase and it required the cooperation of all, we communicated with the authorities concerned with education inside and outside Yemen, the governors of Yemeni governorates, the supporting institutions and donors in order to complete the financial and qualifying requirements of the program, but the response was not at the desired level.
A very small number of supporting institutions responded to the Waqf and they provided the fees for only 50 male and female students. The selection of students was according to the following mechanism:
As the management of the Yemen Pioneers Program of Owais Al-Qarni Waqf, we thank the Turkish Scholarship Authority (YTB) and the donors for their cooperation with us for the success of the program in its first version. At the same time, we highly appreciate the confidence of our male and female students in the program which was clearly demonstrated by the large number of applicants. We also encourage all Yemenis and lovers of Yemen to cooperate with us in building the Waqf by contributing to it and financing the program to increase the number of scholarships in the coming years in order to contribute to the civilizational advancement in Yemen.
We congratulate the students who have been admitted in the program for this year and we wish them success in their new academic life. We encourage them to make the most of the activities of the program. We also wish all success to the rest of the students who have not been admitted to the program this year. In the future, we look forward to making the Waqf an incubator umbrella for all creative and distinguished persons.
